When life is busy — and it always is! — it can seem impossible to fit CNA training into your schedule. That’s why NextStep’s CNA program starts off with online learning. Study on any internet-enabled device (including phones, tablets and computers) any time of day, wherever you are — at night while the kids are in bed, before breakfast, during breaks at work or any other time that’s convenient!
During the online portion of the CNA program, you’ll learn theory knowledge — an understanding of the CNA role and its required skills — as well as information critical to becoming a competent and compassionate CNA. Learning is broken up into bite-sized skill sets that cover important topics such as communication, health and safety, or infection control.
You’ll read information, watch videos from nurse instructors, then take quizzes and tests to see how much you’ve learned. When you complete a skill, you’ll see a checkmark on the skill icon. It’s as simple as that!
Always remember that you can access all of the skills you’ve completed at any time. This can be helpful if you feel like you need to go back and review something to understand it better!
An in-person tab in the app provides you with all the information you’ll need to be successful when you start the in-person portion of the CNA program. Access a list of the requirements you’ll need to complete prior to starting the in-person learning portion of the program, watch videos of the skills you’ll perfect in practice lab and check when you’re scheduled for clinicals.
And if you ever need encouragement or help staying on track, your mentor is always there to offer friendly, professional support! Ready to get started learning online? Click the button below to take your first steps toward becoming an in-demand CNA!
