How does NextStep CNA job placement work?

December 1, 2021

So, you’re ready for something new. Changing careers can be exciting, challenging and — let’s be honest — a little overwhelming. Perhaps you lost your job recently and need a fast, reliable way to get back to work. Or, maybe you’re re-entering the workforce and feel insecure about your skills and experience. At NextStep, we take the stress out of your job search by handling the process for you! We guarantee a CNA job offer to all our training-to-placement learners and give you on-the-job support to make sure you get off to a strong start.

How do I know the job will be a good fit?

We believe the right fit matters — for you and your future employer! That’s why we work hard to find you a job that matches your career and location goals. We start by getting to know your professional personality, including the hours you want to work, the kind of facility you’d prefer and how long you’re able to commute. Then, we look for opportunities with our respected employer partners that meet those needs.

Once we think we’ve found you a perfect match, we’ll send you details about the employer and the position being offered. If everything looks good, we proceed with placement! Some employers request an application, some need an interview, and some jump right into on-boarding and new hire paperwork.

What kind of job can I get?

Our respected employer partners range from skilled nursing facilities and senior living communities to home care agencies. A skilled nursing facility is an in-patient treatment or rehabilitation center where you’ll work with other health care professionals. They provide patients with round-the-clock assistance for health problems and help with daily tasks.

Home care agencies allow a person to be taken care of from home. These services support individuals who are aging and need assistance to live independently, are recovering from a medical setback, or have special needs or a disability. As an in-home CNA, you’ll help your clients with daily activities such as dressing and bathing — as well as offering comfort and companionship.

It’s important that we find the right job for you. If you want to learn more about an organization before you commit to your placement, we’re happy to connect you with the employer so they can answer any questions.

Will I have support after I take the job?

As part of your CNA training, you’ll be assigned a one-on-one CNA mentor who’s with you every step of the way — from enrollment through your first 90 days on the job. They’re on hand to offer guidance, answer any questions and give you a little encouragement when you need it. And, because our mentors are all CNAs, they have firsthand insight into the situations and challenges you might encounter on the job. They’ll support you through your first couple of months until you’re a pro CNA. NextStep also offers additional online learning resources after graduation to help you learn practical on-the-job skills that will help you navigate your new role successfully!

If you’re looking for a new career with no up-front training costs and the security of knowing there’s a job waiting for you after graduation, the NextStep program is right for you.
